Setting the language
Link a course to a specific language. That way the users will only be able to see content created for their specific language. Check out our doc about how to use multilingual content in Maester.

Name your course
Maester Tip: Keep it short and clear.

Course thumbnail image
Let your course stand-out and make it more visual appealing with a relevant image. Looking for free to use stock images? Check out Stocksnap or Pexels

Course Description
Describe what this course is about, what you can learn and what they can expect. This description will appear on course detail page.

Setting a category
Select to which category does this course belongs. No categories yet? Create and manage categories in Courses > Categories.

2儭 Introduction

Introduction title
How do you want to introduce your people to your course? Give them a warm welcome. E.g. "Welcome!", "View our introduction"

Course introduction type
There are multiple introduction types:

Video: Upload your own or select a Vimeo or Youtube video
Text: Just regular text, along with a WYSIWYG editor
Iframe: Embed anything you want.

Enable personalized content
Do you want different content for different departments?

3儭 Content

Creating study content
Start with creating chapters and subchapters. You can add text and video/image per subchapter inside the "Information" tab.

Adding questions
When you're done creating your study content you can start adding questions.
Each subchapter contains the tab "Questions". Click on "Add question" and select on of the several options.

4儭 Completion

Final title
How do you want to compliment people that have completed to your course?
E.g. "Good job!", Congratulations"

Course completion type

5儭 Customize Appearance

Overview, Introduction, Study, Quiz and Final
Set your own background for the overview page. Make sure you set the text color to light or dark to make sure it stays readable.

6儭 Advanced Settings

Introduction
Set how many points a user receives after the introduction is completed. The default for an introduction is 15 points.

Quiz options

  • The default quiz is a "Normal quiz"
  • A "Beat the Clock Quiz" lets you set a specific time for a quiz. The goal for the user is to complete as many questions as possible within this timeframe.
  • "Only Correct Quiz" lets you set a specific time for a quiz. The goal for the users is to answer as much question correct in one single strike. This quiz is over when the users answer incorrect or when the time is over.

Preview and publish your course.

How can you set a course?

Unpublished: Default setting, use this when your course is still work in progress.
Visible:
Visible for everybody
Selective: Use the selective visibility function to restrict the visibility per department or subdepartment.
Hidden:
Hidden for everybody
